I painted my Dakota jake decoy last year and wasn’t super happy with it.
My taxidermist Mark Blevins, died a few years ago and his wife had contacted me that they still had my bird from 5 years ago in a freezer.
I picked it up but couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with it since it was mostly ruined, so I decided to do something memorable with it.
So one snowstorm, a hot glue gun and a whole lotta arts and crafts later, here he is. I think he’ll fool a gobbler.
Scary part is I hunt public land so hopefully I don’t get shot [emoji51]. And yes, I watched too many episodes of MeatEater.
