Best temps to hang a deer outside?

What are the max and min temps to go by when hanging a deer overnight?

We hung a deer in Missouri overnight 17 degrees. It was almost frozen. My hands almost fell off before I was done cutting it up. I won’t do that again. Lol

I’ll hang one if it’s in the 40’s or below. And it does suck when they freeze lol.

50 is fine over night. Under 25 or so and he will start freezing. Almost impossible to skin.

Yup, it’s like peeling a potato.

For me 36-42° is where I’m comfortable to hang and not get frozen.

50 is cool. I have not found evening shot deer until the next morning with lows above 50 a couple of times. Ate them.

Industry standard is under 45 and above freezing. Freezing occurs at slightly different temps due to altitude and pressure.

40-140 degrees is where bacteria grows so we do 40 or below
