A weekend alone in Sutton County

I had the chance to break away for a few days and spend some time at a friend ranch just south of Sonora. He's high fenced and got wiped out with the anthrax bloom a few years ago. With some breeder bucks and bred does over the past few years his deer herd has has gone from 0 (seriously, we couldn't find a single deer that survived) to quite healthy.

    Hope you enjoy!

This guy tried to bite me, missed me by about two feet'ish. It was dark, I'm a chicken so I didn't try and move him or get down to his level. We both wen't our separate ways.

Great shots but I think I would have used the 600mm on the snake too!

                  I sent you a DM

First, thank you everyone for the kind words, much appreciated.

A quick update for those who might be interested. My buddy was in Kenya while I was at his ranch and after showing him the photos and talking about the deer I learned the bucks with yellow tags are only two year olds. He's going to have some giants running around!

Nice looking deer. 24 and 26 are some great looking two year olds. Would have had to change my pants if I came across the snake.
