That's a great warm, fuzzy and uplifting speech but you are forgetting one very important detail. A virus did not shut this country down, our own government did.. Never in the history of this country has our government ever inflicted so much damage and on its own people.. There is 7.7 BILLION people on this ball we call earth and less than 200,000 cases of this crap on that same ball and America now has a CLOSED sign hanging on her door.. I haven’t gone to bed without concern since I was 25, but ****ed if I’ll whine and complain when I can DO as long as I can.

If the **** falls off the plate, let’s wake up tomorrow working to put it back on. 99% of US businesses are small businesses. The govt didn’t give a **** about us a month ago and I doubt they will tomorrow. Proof is in how we’re taxed. Won’t stop me from waking up to make the most of any opportunity that I have.

Unfortunately this is going to be like a hurricane. You hold on for dear life until it passes, then go outside and assess the damage and pick up the pieces that are left. I have very close friends in the restaurant business, and today's news of closures could mean the end for them. I sure hope not. This is gonna be really bad for the service industry.

The problem is that hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, are local problems. The government will throw a couple billion at the problem and the other 99% of the country moves on without the slightest issue.

This is a nationwide issue.

I have a small restaurant that seats about 70 people. I have 7 employees and myself. Business has tanked. I'm not so worried about myself but the weight of the other 7 weighs on me heavily.

Not an owner, didn’t sign paychecks, but was a manager when the oilfield tanked 4-5 years ago.
I had to cut 40% of my workers.

I laid awake at night knowing my decisions were going to impact lives.

I think I’d had my current attitude “I’d rather error on the side of caution”
Unlike many here I don’t believe Obama was intentionally or actively trying to destroy our great country. I think he and I just shared a very different vision for the direction of the country.

Suspending the constitution and declaring martial law would lead to the same reaction from me as Obama or Bush or whomever.
However much of the damage being done is on the state and local government levels. That is the place we need to make our impact known come election time.
I don't know about others but I'm pretty sure I'd be as angry no matter who the POTUS was. I'm even angrier with as Trump.
I knew Obama was a UN loving anti American.
However I expected Trump to at least try to drain the swamp. To at least try and make it better financially for young people. But he's failed in both aspects. We still have Obamacare that has cratered the healthcare process for those of us who had good insurance plans. We still have career politicians in office on the take screwing over the taxpayers and all he does is run his mouth saying stupid **** on tweeter. Yes he did some easy small stuff to reverse some of the ticky tack executive orders Obama screwed us with. Chump change next to the things that need fixing that won't be because he is incapable of working with the system. He is a brash *** not a consensus builder. He can't drain the swamp by either establishing term limits so we can rid ourselves of scum like Pelosi or get on the offensive to defeat them because he is constantly on the defense because of his stupid moves while in office and previous years. He can't keep members of his leadership in office and it's seldom a change for positive reasons.
Trump did get a more moderate judge onto the supreme court but the chances of his getting another one through grow less as we loose seats for Republicans in the other branches.
He's better than the alternatives but that's not saying much. He's never been a leader and this "crisis" just brings that to a focal point.
Then again, politicians prefer unarmed peasants.
