Sweet potato hash browns ... For those watching weight

1 cup of oatmeal is my normal morning carb, but everyone needs a change in taste and a different breakfast could be the thing that keeps you focused and on track instead of a donut or a pop tart causing an insulin spike... Then crash... Then cravings... Now the whole day will be a battle that, IF you weren't strong enough to fight the donut, you dang sure won't win the battle of insulin crash

    All you need:
A sweet potato ( peeled, I cut long ways into 1/4.. But not a must)
    Cheese grader
    Garlic powder
    Onion powder
    Black pepper
    Sea salt
    Olive oil

Shred the potato into a bowl
    Add spices to taste
Add a very small amount of olive oil. Just as a sticking agent... Not even a measurable amount... 4-5 drops
Mix with hand and make into patties in med high skillet
    Pat firm about 1/4"-5/16" thick
    Cook 3 min per side

They sometimes crumble when flipping, so help them out and just re form after the flip

    145g= 30g of complex carbs
Not enough fat to count.. Maybe 1.5g
    Under 130 calories

                      excellent recipe / cook

i'm pretty much anti-carb for the last few years
i even gave up beer a couple of years ago
i'm a protein, veg, fruit kinda guy now
my normal breakfast is 2 soft scrambled eggs
                      & 3- 1/2 strips of bacon
i cut my bacon in half when i buy it so i can cook it in an 8" skillet

but... when i do cheat and have a carb for breakfast i make a little 1/2 cup of pancake mix with an egg and 1/2 cup of milk - with real Maple syrup. it makes 2 small pancakes
with my 3- 1/2 strips of bacon
but i might do that twice a month?

                          Rookie Question

Ive always been eating normal potatoes all my life.. My trainer recently told me to switch to sweet potato.. I frankly am not tooo fond of the taste.. How much better are sweet potatoes anyway? Are there any equivalent substitutes?

White potatoes are a high glycemic variety. "Carb" wide are about the same, just don't spike insulin and keep cravings down... But carb wise are comparable.

I train like everything else; " everything is a lie until I prove it true". If you handle white potatoes keep eating them. I ate brown rice for 4 years because " white rice is bad".... I switched and now do waaayyyy better on white rice. It works for me

                            I love sweet potatoes though
