          As you've noticed you're going to get differing opinions. If your grip puts your hand/fingers up at the level of the arrow shelf, it is a realistic safety concern, if your hand is below the shelf it is less so. The comment above about checking for broadhead clearance is more important in terms of functionality. After that its personal risk assessment. We're all pulling back machines that if a string fails could put out our eyes, break bones, and in general send us to the ER.

            It's your finger. Functionality, as long as nothing is touching the riser or launcher you're fine.
