New Mexico unit 53 elk recommendations

I have drawn New Mexico elk unit 53 muzzleloader tags. I am using Blue Mountain Outfitters.
Any insight or recommendations to the unit?

Take a sharp knife. That area is loaded with elk. Good luck !!

I hunted last year and hunting again this year on 55A that borders 53 on the backside of Taos Pueblo. There are a lot of elk and they have new elk everyday that move in and out of the area so no telling what will show up.
