Default Week 31 2022 traditional FSC

Need a sheet of eight and a half by eleven paper. Orient it on target in a vertical position. Letter not portrait position.
All shots are your first shot of that day.
First shot is from 25 yards. Just gotta hit the paper for each stage. If you don't then the next day same thing, same range.
If you do, day two fold that paper in half, orient the same way and shoot from 20 yards. If you miss next day is same thing. If you do hit it . . .
Day three fold it in half again, orient the same way and shoot from 15 yards. If you hit it . . .
Day four fold in half again and shoot from 10 yards. Same orientation same process.
Day five is a 5 yard shot. By now the paper is folded pretty tight so if it is easier to cut it down that is understandable.
Maximum of 5 hits. But you can shoot 7 days. One shot is allowed for each day.
You only advance if you hit the paper.
Whomever has the most hits wins.
Put a dot on the center of the paper each day so if there is a tie the one closest to the dot on that stage will win.

No guarantees that anyone can shoot enough days to hit every stage so shoot what you can.
Shoot from any position.

Junior starts at 12 yards and moves up 2 yards with each hit.

If it doesn't make sense most folks who know me will understand why.

Good target Gary. It might exclude some shooters due to distance constraints.

Didn’t read the “put a dot on it” till after I shot. Taking a break today through Tuesday and planning on just shooting one arrow a day for the next few days.

I went to the eye doc. My prescription was two years old and past 15 it was a fuzzy arrow tip and a fuzzy target. Got some different prescriptions to try. This one was fairly clear at both ends . . .
I'll mess around some the next two days with it and the other a couple days then decide.
Technically I'm DQ'd on this shot as I shot at 30 yards. That end of the range is marked by fence posts, talking to the wife at pool and followed her there. Noticed when I walked back to pick up the bow. But I only get one first shot so . . .Name: IMG_20220801_175953059.jpg

It's off to the left because I forgot my Chinese finger trap and didn't let my bow jump.
I'm out tomorrow and maybe the next couple of days after. Y'all have fun.

Julie, those are Gary yards. Probably around 23 normal yards!
On a serious one, good shooting at 30!

Im going to sit this one out lol. All i have is a small 18-1 target and after today i realized i have no business shooting at 25 yards yet without it being tuned with a proper arrow.

Sorry bout that Jake.
I realized it would exclude some. Me, I could shoot 55 yards here at home. But I have no clue what my gap is past 30 yards.
And honestly I don't shoot these much anymore for two reasons. One, I hate losing. Two, winning sucks worse cause ya gotta come up with the next challenge. Did last week cause I figured Briar needed a break.

LMAO so nice of you to give him a break! I figured out i can get 29 yards roughly in my yard but my neighbor might not want my arrow through the fence since i suck

Nice shooting, Gentlemen.

Jake, build you a backstop using a stall mat from Tractor Supply.

I second the stall mat. I have one but I NEVER need it. It doesn't have one hole in it.
I was telling Billy that my practice has been limited to 18-24 shots per day. So I take my longer shots first because as I fatigue my wobble area increases. Working on multiple issues like vision correction and spinal issues has me limiting my shots to only quality practice. When I get to the point my bow arm won't allow proper follow through I quit.
My short range gaps (12 to 25 yards) I'm pretty solid on as that is hunting ranges I need to be ready for for up coming hunts. I'll work out my longer gaps later after these docs work some magic.
In all honesty I stopped because I felt that the same guys winning all the time might deter others from participating. Now I'm just focused on my shooting this new anchor and method so I'm having a blast learning all over again. Hunting is a short range game for me but 3D challenges me to stretch it out.

Stall mat is a good idea. Il work on that next month when im off for my daughter being born. I have enough wood laying aroun and some chain i can make a portable frame and hand it with chains. It works in my head at least.

Yes, you want it hanging. That way it can move, absorb the energy, and not let the arrow stick into the mat much if any.

That’s a good point. I was just thinking hanging so I could move it but I see what your saying.

Great job Ellis!

I'm sorry I screwed up. Came home wholly frustrated from the day. Grabbed my bow and one wood arrow. Stepped to the 15 yard bucket, drew and dead centered the little yellow jacket. As I walked up to pull the arrow I remembered the challenge.
But I went ahead and blew off steam shooting a half dozen wood shots and a half dozen carbon shots at 20 yards and suddenly the irrigation of the day was gone.
