                    For the second time since its creation, had to clean out bad feed. Protein got caked along the side at the bottom. It didn’t stop the feeder from working, but would have rusted the feeder out if it had not been removed. Took the feed head off and opened the hammer feeder and began scraping it out. The smell of ammonia was strong in there abs had to come up for air every few minutes. After about an hour got it all cleaned out and then refilled with corn. Debating whether or not I just fill with corn, soybeans, and peas from now on so I don’t have to do this clean out again. Definitely a PAIN……

                                Palmetto is exactly right needs a vent. 2 on the top edge to allow some airflow.
