    Taxidermy storage

Basically I moved to Houston area and taxidermy in storage and it’s climate controlled but I moved into a house temporarily until I buy and I can put all my stuff in the garage but it’s not completely controlled , possibly humid and I didn’t know if it would damage the mounts. I can get a dehumidifier too

Can I save $160/ month And put them in the garage or Just keep them in storage

    Thoughts?

Heat, humidity, bugs, and mice are very hard on taxidermy..

I would keep in climate control.

Do you have an extra closet that you could put them in?
Climate controlled is always better, but I've had mounts hanging in my shop for 4+ years, with no climate control and no visible problems, as of yet. I don't recommend it though. I think I've just been lucky.

I was in the exact same situation the last few months. I didn't risk it and paid for the climate controlled storage unit.

Just consider how much it costs to replace them all!!! Measure that against the monthly climate controlled storage fee and make the decision. Garage in Houston will not be kind to them!
