    ? 1980 deck boat

    I have a buddy that wants to sale me a 16ft deck boat but I can't find any info on the thing online....He just had the 115hp Johnson motor rebuilt and it looks like deck boat is the brand but not finding anything on that....He wants 3k just curious if anyone has info on these

    helluva lot of money for a almost 40 year old 16' boat.... it made of gold?

      He said he just put 2500 in motor from reputable shop just a few months ago and has receipts. ....here's a pic

        Check the floors and transom. I got one once from my FIL that had a rotted transom and floor. Cost a lot to fix it.

          He would've been better off just getting a different motor. I'm not a fan of deck boats, they don't come off as practical to me.

            If it has had good motor work done and its not rotted its probably not a bad price.
            But think about whether or not it will serve your purposes.

              That one appears to be a center console and bigger than 16ft. Check the floor and transom as already stated. If it is solid fiberglass and no wood in great condition then it might be a good deal even though there is a much lower book value for it. Average retail is just under $2500 depending on which model it is. This link shows bare boat. Add motor and trailer and other extras. Looks like a good cat fishing/crappie fishing platform

                Thanks guys...I'll be using it mainly for jugging and joy riding around...would probably take up river as well so I was thinking it would be good for that
