These rocks are stacked 2-3 ft high down the whole side of this mountain I guess you would call it. What could this be and who stacked these? You can tell they have been there a long time.
Our place is in SE Mason County, and we have quite a few old rock fences as well. Not sure how old, but probably built in the last 100 years. We just like them because we know they were built by our family. We make sure dozers go around them and not destroy them.

It's weird bc it's on the top part of the mountain, not towards the bottom to catch water flow or anything.
I was thinking maybe a home made fence to keep cattle from walking down the mountain??
Or if it was made a long time ago maybe a place for protection other incoming Indians firing or a place to hide for hunting. I have no idea just thinking outside the box.
