What is this part of a window called?

I’m looking for the proper term for this portion of a fixed glass pane on an exterior door. It’s wood, approx 1/2” on each side and 4 pieces surround the glass. It’s not the stile or the rail, but fits along the edges of both.

After looking at 100+ window diagrams with part names on Google, I threw up my hands and said let me ask in TBH.

Why? I’m in a ‘discussion’ with the door manufacturer (Marvin) about an issue and I want to be specific on the part name.

    Thanks!

Like above. It’s just trim. Looks like you have a fixed pane so it’s not actually part of the window.

Sliding door stile trim. Sliding door rail trim.
Use: The sliding door stile trim has a flat profile.
The inside wood trim portion adjacent and perpendicular to the glass pane is the beading. It might be called stile/rail beading.

That appears to be part of the actual stile on the door itself. Above that is the glass bead that caps/secures the edge of the glass insert.

                      Thanks!

It’s definitely not part of the style or rail. The first pair of Marvin doors had scratched wood and aluminum cladding, and they agreed to replace them.

Six months later, the new doors came in and when they went to install them, we found a long scratch, poor staining and they mixed pine for those pieces and the bottom rail.

with the stained fir we ordered for the doors.

I have left a voicemail for the Marvin plant manager asking he and his head of quality kindly call me to discuss. What a bleeping headache.

LinkedIn is a marvelous tool to find the names of people you want to talk to. I used it all the time before I retired as a sales director.

The plant manager said it’s called different terms by different people, but “beading” or “the bead” is a good term to use.
