    Scared the bejeezus outta me.
I agree. Think the weather, or maybe its just a time of year thing. Don't know. But I actually touched a rat snake yesterday without knowing it. Couldn't believe it as I fancy myself to be very careful.

After the freak out dance (by both of us), a healthy dose of humble pie settled in.

I accidentally stepped on this one. About 50 times. I think it was juvenile

                  100% young cotton mouth

Yellow tail, domino print patterns and it’ll have a dark stripe across its head through its eyes. As they age the turn darker, nearly black and make the pattern less distinct.

Copperheads patterns are more of a perfect hour glass on there back, where cotton mouths alternate and have the domino spots on them.

That’s a big copper head. Should have skinned it.

Copperhead bit my sisters dog last week. On the tongue!
                          Really small one.

I hate those snakes in particular, rattlesnakes more times than not let you know your to close, cottonmouths are typically close to water but these things can be anywhere and if their in leaves you rarely see them and they absolutely love to climb up in cedar tree’s. I can’t even think about counting how many of them have fallen out onto a machine after bumping a cedar and it freaks me out every time. I’ll chase them down shredding them into pieces every time,

Pretty Copperhead, hershey kisses on the side make it easy to identify.

                              Yup, baby moccasin.

Man they were out this weekend. Killed three in my back yard. Our last dog got bit twice at the same time (throat and side of muzzle). This is war.
