I'm getting fickled in my old age I guess. I can't ever seem to make up my mind.

Depending on my whim of the moment it will be one of the following:

Barret Fieldcraft 6.5X55 with 130 gr. Swift Sciroccos
Christensen Arms Mesa 6.5 PRC with 130 Accubonds
Browning 1885 in 7 Mag with 145 gr. Speer Grand Slams

I feel you!
Lately, I've been consistently grabbing the Barrett Fieldcraft manbun though. For being an ultralight it shoots extremely well. I really hope they start making them again, I want the 280ai they announced at shot show right before they suspended production.

Any opinions on the .270?

270 has been my go to caliber for years, I have a 10 yr old cheap savage in 270 that I end up using every year. I bought a newer Savage 110 High Country in 270 last year that I used to kill a couple of pigs and 1 buck, but at the end of the day I went back to my older savage 270. IMO the 270 is one of the most versatile calibers, I have shot everything from Groundhogs to deer with mine.
