This one is in a tree right above a guys carport on hwy 190. Crazy to see one in a spot like that.

I always enjoy seeing pics of these guys, and that above carport perch is unusual.

Are there any major waterways/bodies in the Lampasas area? Cool to see, especially when you're not expecting it.

Can you tell me where along 39? Lived near there for 17 years.

There has been at least a nesting pair on Gibbons Creek for years but I have never been able to get a lens on one. There are several at Lake Somerville. Took this one a couple of weeks ago on the Washington Co. side of the lake. Link to the gallery, all taken in 2021, Somerville bald eagles

We see more every year up here in the Sam Rayburn area. Especially in the winter. They give the buzzards competition also on the road kill.
I wouldn’t advertise it if there was a nest on or near your property.

Saw one on Lake Woodlands yesterday getting my last kayak trip in. Caught five before the winter comes in. :-)

Had one sit in a tree while I was bow hunting in North Lampasas County.

Yes, I believe they moved their nest to the island across from lake shore park. The old nest at Hughes Landing is gone. :-(
