We are in Franklin and have otters regularly in one of our bigger stock tanks. The place we hunted in Easterly had them on one of the lakes, but we would often see them traveling across pastures between one tank and another. Some of the distances were pretty far.

After Almost every big rain in Franklin there is a dead otter or beaver on a road somewhere hit while traveling.
