    Milky Way shots

My wife and I spent last week in S Llano River SP and being a new moon I wanted to try shooting the Milky Way. Best would have been around 12 to 12:30 AM but I have seen that time of day in many, many moons. I am however, an early riser so was out there at 3:45 AM. It was a cool 51 degrees. Glad I had a flannel shirt and hoodie. I'm a rank amateur at this type of photography. These are single exposures taken at 25 to 30 seconds from a tripod. Equipment was a Sony A1 and Sony FE 16-35 f4. F4, 16mm, ISO 6400 One in portrait and the other in landscape. I do plan to try to stack some of the images later.

Very cool. I'd like to try my hand at that at our place out west.

Great job. I couldn't get close to that good with a coach.

Good stuff! Astrophotography is a lot of fun when the skies are dark enough.
