Default smallest, weakest caliber pig kill pic thread

So i had a couple of heated threads with some fellers about a particular cartridge, and it sparked me to open this thread ...

please post pics or video of hog kills with less than macho calibers! please no hog in a trap, anyone can do that ... but if you killed a hog with oh i don't know a 9mm pistol , or ... well whatever ... really ... i think it would be fun to see what people have been successful with without the need of a belted magnum.
the bigger the pig and smaller caliber the better ...

let's see some achievements!

I saw a video the other day here on tbh where a guy posted a video of his son killing a good size how with his paw paw 22 hornet heirloom... i thought that was pretty fantastic ...

let's see them!

My brother domed one at like 50 yards with a Glock 19 and killed it. They got it on video but it’s late in the evening and super grainy. If I remember correctly he was actually aiming center mass and ended up ear holing him.

Seen my Dad and my Grandpa kill many a 300 lb fatting hog with a .22 lr. Of course them hogs was standing still eating out of the trough. Always loved hog killing time right before Christmas back on the farm. Cracklin cornbread, lima beans and boiled backbone for erbody. Souse sammiches the next day.

Killed this big guy with my suppressed .22LR shooting subsonic bullets from 47 yds. Hit him right between the eyes.

Followed this up by shooting a sow at 80 yds with the same rifle the next weekend. I hit her in the spine around the neck area.

Itís always crazy when all you hear is the bullet hitting the pig.

all solid kills...just don't pick up a 300 BO or the bullets will bounce off. It's a cursed cartridge & won't penetrate the eyeball of anything on this planet. Best suited for carnival paper shoots. Congress is working to make the round a paper weight unsuitable for gun ranges, much less hunting purposes. 22cb short is way superior.

.22 mag & 9mm are the two smallest I ever used to zap hogs.

The .22 mag was a 40 gn lead bullet and the 9mm was a 102 gn Golden Sabre bullet I hand loaded . Head shots all around.

No they werenít in a trap.

S&W 617 .22 LR
Mowing the fence line around one of my oat patches and kept seeing this sow's head pop up above the oats. Oats were headed out and just about ready to bale so she was having lunch. Got about 50-60 yards from her, killed the tractor and got a good rest on the door. Next time her head came up I gave it a tad of elevation and let one fly. Not sure who was more surprised me or her.

Guns? Heck I've killed them with a bow.

But if we're talking small caliber guns, I've killed gobs and gobs with a .22LR and almost as many gobs with a .22mag.

I was headed dove hunting about 20 years ago and my headlights caught a group of pigs (10-15 lbs apiece). I only had my 20 gauge 1100 and some #8 shot. I shot twice and killed all 6 of them

Cool stuff. The smallest gun I have ever used on a pig was a 223, with a 52 gr. hollow point to the head. Anytime I have encountered pigs, I always had a gun more than capable of killing them. I have never encountered a pig while carrying a rimfire, or a shotgun. I would say most every time I have ever seen pigs, I was out looking for pigs to hunt and had a gun, I considered a good choice.

The many times I went rabbit hunting with a 22 when I was a kid, I never once saw a pig, while doing so. The ranch I did most of the rabbit hunting on, was the same one we killed the most pigs on. I have jumped many deer, some very nice bucks, while rabbit hunting, but no pigs. Something I have never thought about previously.

I have seen a bunch of air gun pig kill videos, I have wanted to add that to the list of things I have killed with my Sheridan. That thing, is just flat deadly. I am quite sure that gun would drop a pig, with a head shot.

Reading all these replies proves to me beyond a shadow of doubt that a .22 rimfire and pellet guns are far superior to say a 300 BO when it comes to killing hogs. Not once did a critter escape the wrath of a very underpowered rimfire round.

i heard if you carry a 6.8 .. you don't even have to shoot , you point it in their direction and they fall over dead .. true story !

I remember one time me and dad were hunting on a hog infested lease. We had a 10/22 in the blind with us and a herd of hog comes out and he tells me “put it right in the shoulder” so it would run away, keep in mind this was a decent 120# hog about 100 yards away with a .22lr. Dropped stone cold dead in its tracks with a perfect shoulder shot.

CZ 457 Varmint. It had much prettier wood before I got a hold of it. I do have a like new factory replacement stock for it that has beautiful wood as well if I ever decide to quit treating it like a truck rifle.

I keep saying I am going to buy a CZ, one in 6.5 Grendel. I have only owned CZ pistols never owned one of their rifles, but sure like what I have seen.

I love having a gun with beautiful wood on it, but I sure hate dinging up a beautiful piece of wood. I like to save those for special occasions. I can see a ding on the side of that stock, on your gun. At least you have a nice piece to put on it, to make it look great again.

All with a 32gr 204 Ruger. I know that this will probably be disproven by some sort of science but something about bullet speed seems to make animals drop.
