I was surprised to hear his views on Joe Rogan. Idk if I would vote for him, but I'm fairly confident he's a closet republican. He talked a lot about family values. He expressed how he wished some things were like they were when he was growing up. He had a lot of good things to say about Governor Abbott. He knows that if he comes clean he will tank his Hollywood career. He has a much more vested interest in claiming to be a democrat in his career than "on the fence". I think the fact he hasn't even claimed a party gives me hope. I could be wrong, but before you make a judgment call, listen to the JRE podcast with him.

What’s the point of electing someone afraid to stand up for their beliefs? If his Hollywood career is more important then stay out of public politics

Gotcha, I've seen a couple of those lately they are pretty cool, I thought you were saying McConaughey said something amazing.

There's one of those about God's love that I've seen that is really cool.

Amen to that. A person that fears being ridiculed about their beliefs, must not feel very strongly about them, and are at risk of being swayed. I respect people for being genuine, not politically correct.

He is bored. They haven't been making movies for sometime now.
It will be entertaining if he actually moves forward with this.

I feel bad for his family when 1000's of women come forward claiming he did something to them that was not appropriate.

His upbringing & family life is a crazy story. Really hilarious parents & brothers.
It won't sit well with the cancel culture we live in.

With all that being said I think he could win if he rides this out.

Lets just think about the actors we have put in office.
Ronald Regan, AH-Nold Swarzenegger, Al Franken, Jesse Ventura, Fred Thompson, Clint Eastwood. The list goes on and on.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_actor-politicians

In many cases. Politics is a popularity contest and actors have that on their side. The way Hollywood is today. If you do not talk their talk then you do not work. Blacklisting is alive and well. Since we have no REAL media, the cycle continues.

Haven't you been here long enuff to know we rarely stay on topic.

Heck, a rant about haggling on a price in the classified, just turned into a offensive racial butt hurting whine fest. I have no idea how that happened.

Said he grew up hunting, was taught the right way about guns and has friends that are gun owners and NRA members ,but in favor of some type of gun control.I will not vote for him if he runs for office, again more laws and restrictions on the law abiding citizen instead of going after the problem.

I think as some have eluded to this is an attempt to shift Texas bit by bit to the blue. He may not be full blown libtard but it seems like a potential Trojan horse.

From what I can tell, he's a pretty decent guy. I don't have a good read on his political leanings for sure, but he sounds like he's closer to an old Yellow Dog Democrat than anything else. Not near as bad as today's communist Democrats, but not a solid constitutional conservative either.

I like him, but I wouldn't vote for him (assuming my take on his politics holds true).
