Fishing rod setup to leave in truck

I want to throw a pole in the truck and leave it in there. Was thinking a spinning real on a two piece rod. And try and find some kinda case that could hopefully let me leave something tied on. Y’all have a setup you use?

I have a H2O brand 6’6” two price spinning combo that stays in my tool box. Plus a work catalog/bag with random baits in for freshwater. I’ve had that in my truck for 4 years now and will continue to carry it around. Has come in handy several times.

Whatever you get will probably get stolen if you leave it, so don't spend to much. Kinda like leaving your bow or firearms. The thieves will eventually get, then you will have to rant lol.

I can’t really think of a better option unless you want to get into fly fishing. I prefer a 2 pc 5’5” light action with a small spinning reel. But I prefer light tackle. Keep it behind your seat if you have an extended or crew cab
