What a place!

Headed down to the ranch on Thursday evening. I hadn’t been there in 6 weeks and it was killing me. To say the place is brown is an understatement. It’s brown on brown with a compliment of brown. The mesquites are the only thing green right now. Snovid 2021 hit everything hard. Deer are hammering the cottonseed and protein. Went shed hunting the entire time. Rode horses for 4 plus hours on Friday and Saturday. Really fun to cut through the brush and search for Easter eggs. Found some notable bucks and found one young up and comer in the tank dead. Saw several other carcasses that just didn’t make it either. That’s never fun but it is what it is. Got some much needed rain Saturday night and Sunday morning. Hope that keeps coming.

Thanks. Still really bare, getting some weeds in there now and I suspect with the rain from this week we should get some good new growth in there.

Spent last weekend at the ranch with my youngest. She practiced driving, I did a few chores ( very little it’s so hot!!) shot my new/redone rifle. Hit the gong at 700 yards from a crummy rest on the front feeder of my truck. Bucks are growing!!

i cant see 700 yards. much less shoot it.
