New Protein Idea

So a friend has started using peanut butter jars to help get some more protein to the deer. I went out and got two, one for each of my feeders and wired them to a leg, and then cut the bottom off. 😂 I know the coons may get some but it’s worth the experiment. I’ll attach pictures for reference. Let me know if any of y’all have tried this?

Suggestion: take some screw and screw the lid to the posy or a nearby tree. That way, when the peanut butter is gone (in 2 days ) you can just replace the jar with a fresh one and not have to unwire any rewire the lid.

It’s because we are all poor up here in the woods.

Just cut a small hole in bottom !
Deer will put tongue in and clean out, no need in hole big enough for coins to put hands in.
Buddy’s been feeding deer this for a while.

I do it. A jar last about 2 days. I leave screwed to a tree and replace jar when I’m hunting. It’s fun to watch.

Boiled corn is fun too. Couple pounds of corn boiled in crawfish cooker for a bit until it’s soft. Great aroma and deer chew it like bubble gum.

I have done it, and once they figure it out, they will lick the jar so clean you would never know there was ever peanut butter in it!!!
