Buddy on our lease ask me to check his camera while I was there last weekend. Told him I would if I could drive his lease ride ( it’s pretty far back and rough) of course he said go for it. Pulled up to his pen and found this one.

Only problem is I found it like this. I did offer to get him a new tire, of course he said no way.

I’ve found two sheds this year. One off a 138-140” deer and one 12pt I taped out around 125”

Might be my highest scoring start ever!

I’ll be heading South in a few weeks to look for sheds and chase some rattle snakes.

We picked up 3 nice ones yesterday. Some bucks still have horns. Took a walk this morning but came out empty handed

I have yet to get a pic of a deer that has dropped even one side.

However, yesterday I poured out a sack of feed along the bottom of the feed pen to see if I might "trap" a shed or 2

Found this one today laying by a road on the ranch. Have some grandkids coming during spring break to do some serious shed hunting.

I picked up 15 last weekend. About half were old. No bigs.

This one was a fresh shed. I thought it was a cool find being that it was stuck in the mud this way.

I think this may be the smallest forked shed I have ever found. Sure hope this was his first year to have antlers.

I found a good match set in Cotulla last weekend and made a rookie mistake. I put on side on the hood of the tractor while I was checking a water trough, it vibrated off and then I shred right over it, destroying it. I was angry for 2 days, heck Im still angry almost a week later

One of my wife's favorite outdoor activities is to walk for sheds. She's 6 months' pregnant but decided we had to go, so we filled up the Camelbaks and we went. Had a pretty decent haul the other day, but not many fresh. Found a few matching sets, and the other side of one 10 I picked up a couple weeks ago. Have his complete set too now.

Gonna give it another go next weekend and see if we can turn up more fresh ones.

Found several fresh sheds and lots of older ones on our new place. Nice young bucks I have tons of photo of each since last summer
But saw a larger deer yesterday I also recognized still wearing both sides.

12 miles of walking turned up two oolldd chalk antlers. Not even worth the hassle of adding a photo here lol. Hope everyone else has more luck this weekend!

I walked over 10 miles in one of my best areas and only found one set from this year. The timing of the rains and warm temperatures have made it difficult. The grass is higher than usual and the deer are more spread out. Kind of surprised by the number of old sheds I’ve found. I thought I had them cleaned up last year.

This is the challenge I’ve had as well. What was no higher than a few inches last year at this time is at knee height in lots of places I search. Makes it seemingly impossible to spot them unless I am a few feet from them lol. Should be great for antler growth this year though I’d imagine
