Default PSE Archery Company sold

https://www.outdoorlife.com/gear/her...s-pse-archery/

I’m just glad the Bowmar’s didn’t get it…

PSE was one of the few major companies that was still under original ownership in the US. Who else does that leave now? Mathews and Hoyt?

I hope their customer service doesn’t take a nose dive like some other companies in the industry have when they got bought out!

Prime is still under original ownership as well. Really only the smaller companies have changed hands with the exception of Elite, as far as I know. Be interesting to see what Nock On's increased role ends up looking like. Its hard to know what the long term outcome will be; because, there is no history on this investment group as it appears to be brand new and this is its first acquisition. The CEO has ties to Kryptek and BRCC.

Pretty sure Elite was started/owned by Kevin Strothers in 2005 and he sold to The Outdoor Group a couple years later….Think it was in 2009 or 2010 time frame. .

Hate to hear PSE sold. Hopefully the new group does good with it because PSE has been around for a long time.

Hopefully this doesn't go the way of Cerberus with Remington, Marlin, and Bushmaster.

PSE has gone down hill. Member on here bought one of their crossbows. Shortly after he bought it, it was discontinued. They would no longer honor any warranty part of it. Had limbs snap not once, but two times on it. The second time being right after he got it back from the bow shop to have it repaired. The shop had to fight for him, to get anything done at all. They finally did, but it was a big hassle. He got this crossbow, on my recommendation for PSE. Felt bad about it, but this explains a lot.

Bowtech has changed hands several times and is now part of Pure Archery group (Black Gold, Tightspot, etc). Prior to that they were owned by the same conglomerate as Savage. Hoyt is technically owned by Easton, but that’s a little different. Elite is part of outdoor group as mentioned. Obsession went to Arcus, then back out again and last I checked is with Martin which is ELM. And Bear is part of Escalade Sports. Historically, customer service has taken a nosedive when the smaller companies get bought up. Trophy Taker, Muzzy/Rage (Feradyne) are examples I can think of…

I just know when I used to call the Outdoor Group, I would get tortured by Luke Bryan singing “huntin and fishin and lovin every day” on endless loop while on hold.

And as to the crossbow issues… the only PSE made in the United States from the timeframe of the Fang was the war hammer. They probably wouldn’t honor the warranty because they didn’t have parts since they outsourced them to Taiwan. Not sure if they still do.

I think the most interesting part, as noted, will be what direction John Dudley goes with them.

I no longer shoot a PSE as my goto. I always liked their products at the mid-range price point, Hope they stay the same.

Think just once... founded in 1931 by Earl Hoyt, purchased by Easton in 1983, and Easton afaik still owns them.

Ain't that the truth.. Is Tim still alive? I thought some customer would have taken him out by now.
