    New build 243AI

Got my 243ai put together the other day and I must say it’s a nice looking rifle! I’m excited to start load development.

    Specs:
    Savage 10 action
    Timney trigger
    26” 1:10 McGowan 243ai barrel finished at .900
    Oryx chassis
    Acis mags
    20moa base
Currently a cheap primary arms 4-16x44
Sico ARS 3 stage brake with sico hybrid 46

Plan is to run 75gr-87gr vmax/Berger’s ect as fast as I can. I’ve seen promising velocity with non fire formed brass and room to go with the 75gr vmax I got 3565fps using H4350. Just ordered some lapua brass to fire form.

Geez! I thought barrel life was going to be terrible with my 243.

Good looking stick! Those 75 gr V-Max’s are potent!

Very nice! What a screamer. Coyotes won't even know what just happened!

Nice looking rifle! Hopefully you can get some tight groups with your velocity goal. Personally, I had much better groupings slowing mine down a bit.

Yeah I hope so. If I can’t get 3/4 or better with screaming 75s I’ll bump up to 87s and try them

Not worried about barrel life I’ll just have it set back if it’s a proven shooter.

Nice. I like the direction. I run two 6cms and a buddy runs a 243. I shoot 87v maxs in one and 95 bergers in the other. My buddy runs 75gr a maxs in his 243. They don’t move with any of the three. Ask Blake ^^^^ lol

My wife shoots 75gr vmax with a medium load in her 243 and it hammers deer.

We need details on this 17 hornet. I have been thinking about building one out since CZ discontinued the 527

Mine is a factory CZ527 varmint only thing I’ve done is had it threaded for a suppressor and develop a load using 11.4gr of cfe black and a 25gr Hornady hollow point.

insanely accurate, zero recoil, and very addictive
.... and you can load 635+ rds. from one pound of powder

I have a lot of nice custom rifles as my 17 Ackley Hornet is by far my favorite
