Who knows what the details will turn out to be but I can see this going badly for the employee if he shot the guy when he was on his way out the door - just the way things are these days

Yea. If he shot him in the back or while leaving it will more than likely go badly for the employee... The robber must have had a death wish or thought he was in a different state where stores allow them to leave.

This should be what happens more with criminals, but you are right that the Houston DA will do his best to send the employee to jail. He should be getting a metal and instead he will be getting a lawyer
