I have replaced dozens of O2 sensors that fixed the heater code.

Usually the O2 or a broken wire. But it's possible a heater circuit code could be the computer. But very unlikely, more so in EEC IV and newer computers. That 05 would have what Ford used to call the Spanish Oak computer, I think they have since used a different name for it. It's a pretty dang good computer, they don't go bad very often. I did replace one in a Lincoln Navigator one time. I don't remember what burnt up, something shorted out and then smoked a circuit in the computer. That one, you could smell burnt electrical, when working on it.
