Dang. We’re going at the end of the month. This is discouraging to read.

We were there 2 weeks ago and it wasn't like this. We made reservations for meals and the casino tables were pretty full. The biggest problem is no one wants to work when they can sit home a draw a check.

BINGO. I read an article a couple days ago and in some larger cities (cough cough) a lot of the fast food restaurants are closing real early and many mom and pop places are closing simply due to the fact that they can't get any help. Everyone sits at home and gets a check and unless you are offered a job well over 20 bucks an hr it's not worth it.

I generally felt like this regarding Vegas BEFORE Covid...

It will only get worse. I bet most of the staff couldn’t make ends meet and it will take a good long while before it can recover

I was there recently for a month for work. Can attest to all of this. If you’re there middle of the week it’s thinned out some. The weekends are full of the folks from states that have strict lockdowns... aka California.

weekends will be PACKED......the TRASH is THICK especially from California and Arizona

avoid CET properties especially the lower end ones (all CET properties are lower end at this point)

there is a chance the airport will run out of rental cars or you will wait in a LONG line

uber/lyft are very hard to get from the airport and the wait for a cab will be long

Wynn has bag checks to get in the hotel and on the weekends Cosmo limits who they allow in the property (hotel guest, player card holders, restaurant reservations) you can expect a line at each to enter

some places will limit who can get on the elevator there may be a line at others there still might be a line, but if social distancing is important to you it might not happen in the elevators

expect to smell a lot of weed on the streets and in the mid range (most CET) and lower properties

scooter "gangs" are all over the place

restaurants can be hit or miss

Fremont will be CRAZY (and trashy) on the weekends, not as bad in the week

pools will be very restrictive at many places

as you get off the strip it is not as bad and Circa seems to have a good pool thing going (and you can use it as a guest of the D or GG)

there are long lines at a lot of strip properties for basic stuff like some massively over priced starbucks

table limits at a lot of places are HIGH even creeping up downtown as well

there are urchins getting into some casinos, but security will generally get on them if you even feign annoyance with them

Vegasmessageforum trip reports can get you more info on specific properties as well as their restaurant forum and the areas forums (strip, off strip, downtown) and the airport and car rental situation

if you are going my advice is read up and plan ahead or you might have a really horrible experience for way too much money

We just booked a family trip to Cancun and a lot of reviews for resorts were complaining about a lack of food options. I told the wife if we get over there and I can't eat we're coming back home The one we booked seems to have everything in order though.
i have nephew that is a VIP card holder at the MGM, that card is like your ticket to the front of the line, but right now, not so much... he still gets the best before anyone else, but he would rather go to Cachada ( spelling is more then likely wrong)

we book Cancun for Aug, hope it is as expected, and no issues fingers crossed

I forgot about the constant smell of weed on the streets, the elevator, and the casino. If you want to go on a vacation with the constant fear of getting mugged or jumped, go to Vegas!
