Definitely sunfish, but I don’t think it is easy to determine which species. It’s not a bluegill or pumpkinseed. Could be several others. Catch an adult from the pond and you’ll know.
Still leaning towards light colored bluegill due to muddier water since it was flooding per the OP. You can see the faint bars and there is no green sunfish "black ear" in the OPs pic
Locally, there is a perch like that, the locals call a Pirate Perch. Never heard that name before, but that fish is what it looks like.
Kinda looks like a Sand Bass.
I would say it is a Bluegill, Redear/Chinquapin, take your pick.
Bluegills will have a dark spot at the rear base of the dorsal fin, especially when young. Tends to disappear as they get older. So don't think it is a bluegill but is some kind of perch.
I have seen some crappie young and the specked marks were there enough to know it was a crappie
