Deer liver aged for a week

Am I gonna die if I eat it?

I just finished processing a deer and found in the bottom of the cooler a ziplock with the liver in it. Been in there on ice since last Sunday (8 days). I swear up and down I tossed it in the deep freeze but I messed up somehow and tossed the heart in there instead. I've always eaten liver fresh or frozen immediately.

It's still fresher than the beef liver at the store. If it's been on ice all the time and passes the smell test you should be OK.

No don't eat it, give it to me and I will dispose of it with onions and bacon.

I think you’re already getting sick.

It should be fine if kept on ice the whole time. I know quite a few guys who ice their meat down for 5-7 days before deboning and processing it
