    Wood Pellets for Turkey?

What pellets are you all using for turkey? Gonna try one this year on the new pellet grill. Open to rub recommendations too.

    Wood Pellets for Turkey?

I normally use pecan pellets by Lumberjack.

I'm no hope on pellets but by all means brine it for a few days before you smoke it. That will make way more difference than pellet wood imho.

I use pecan, or fruit flavors, typically Traeger or BB brand. I also recommend brine. I find it helpful on smokes for white meat. I like meat church's or Seven Dust rubs.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'm going with pecan pellets. Any brine recipes that you recommend?

Decided to do a test run and spatchcocked a turkey this past weekend. Did a sugar and salt water brine, Serendipity Seasoned Salt rub, 275 degrees on the pellet grill. Used mesquite pellets that were already in the hopper. Turned out perfect. If you have a pellet grill and have not cooked a turkey this way, you are missing out.
