Venison Hamburger steak with red wine reduction gravy

This is my personal favorite venison burger recipe that I make and is really simple

Ingredients: 4 half pound venison burger patty’s

    1 onion rough chopped
    1 cup of red wine
    16 oz beef broth
1 packet of beefy onion soup mix
    Minced garlic
    Olive oil

In a cast iron skillet fry your burger patty’s seasoned however you like in a little olive oil. Once the patty’s are removed brown the onions in the same skillet in left over oil. When the onions are close to done add the garlic and let cook a couple of minutes. Then add the wine and let it reduce down. Add the beef broth and onion soup mix. Simmer till it starts to thicken a little. Add the patty’s back in at the end so they can soak up all that goodness. For more gravy you can add more broth but may have to also add some flour dissolved in water

Thanks y’all. Also I don’t really measure anything so the wine and beef broth is just a close estimate to what I think I normally use
