Thanks guys, I can’t imagine workers comp isn’t involved but I’ll sure ask about it. The prayers are surely helping though I don’t have any updates on his condition. When I get anything I’ll post it up.

I bet HR isnt going to be much help. They will direct you (or your brass) to family assistance. Im sure FA is aware of it already. FYI there is a whopping 1.5 people in family assistance. At one point recently the county had 9 people in the hospital with covid between retirees and current. Family assistance has them, all death notifications and something like 5 or 6 families of fallen deputies they have been working state and federal paperwork on. Then there is police week in a few weeks and all those families have to be escorted to Washington.

I'm doing paperwork this morning on one of my officers that tested postive last night. 30 officers in my unit, 6 are out due to covid, 2 in the hospital currently workers comp is handling every case. Our process is pretty simple but every dept is different.
