I and a hunter were stalked by one in northern NM while we were sitting on a ridge cow calling for elk. Saw it at about 75 yards, but when we moved, it skedaddled! Not even close to the intensity of this video.

I went on a hunt at LRGV Teniente and got scared by a mountain lion. I was walking out to my spot and could barely see my feet. As I got about 20 yards away from where I was going to sit I got growled at. It sounded super low and loud. It almost sounded like an African lion. It sounded like it was right next to me too. I ended up stomping my foot and yelling at it. It didn’t move. I slowly walked the rest of the way and sat with my back to a tree. The bad part is I was archery hunting and had left my handgun in the truck that morning. After I sat down I pulled out my knife and waited. It paced back and forth for a few minutes after I sat down. Then it decided I wasn’t worth it and ran away. That was the scariest thing that has happened to me while hunting.

I got attacked by a cougar a few years back at a small bar close to my house. She got stabbed a few times and I just ended up with scratches. Got pretty lucky.

Right...if his head gear was "Shane approved" he would have bull dogged her right away and choked her out.

Impressive maternal instincts!

That was amazing video

I always thought a javelina or Brahma cow was a good mean mom!

Walked up on a momma bobcat just like that once.
She didn’t run away, but just eased off and called her two babies.
I was never scared, but wished a had a camera !

So I saw a screen shot on Facebook of the clip, just the stance that lion took and the whole “stalked the guy” quote made me think maybe she had Cubs nearby.

Seeing this thread just now I watched the video. Sure enough...Cubs (kittens?)
Guys an idiot for seeing the young ones and staying anywhere near them.

I don't know that I could have done the backwards walk that long on that road without tripping on something

Definitely would’ve been warning shots fired on that one and probably no video cause I wouldn’t want any evidence...

I’d rather swap dukes with that cougar momma than deal with a Brahman momma who is out to get you.

I think I would have tried to snag a couple of rocks and threw them, if that did not work I would have just screamed like a little girl.
