Default Holosun sight or another brand?

I am looking for a open reflex sight to put on a couple pistols. I will more than likely end up putting one on my everyday carry. Does anyone have any experience with a Holosun or any other quality brand.

Pros and cons of putting one on EDC?

Iím not going to say price doesnít matter, but I donít mind spending a little extra to get the right sight.

I have a couple that are low end china stuff I have on 22ís for the grand kids so I know what a cheap one looks like.

I have RMRs and Burris sights and they are both good to go, but I just ordered a Sig RomeoZero and a Holosun 507C for 2 P365s so I will let you know what I think when they get here. BUT everything I could find online said the Holosun is excellent and built like a tank.

I would seek a shake awake or horizontal on model for carry use.

I only have one Burris FF3 and having to turn it on would not be something to do in the heat of the moment.

Trijicon Type 2 RMR for a carry gun.

Triji or Holosun are good choices. From the reviews the Triji takes the lead for durability. I have Holosun 507k on a G43x. Iím very pleased with it.

Mine are mostly Leupold Delta Points. I just like them better than Vortex or Trijicon, and I’ve had both those. If you could try some different ones before you lay down your cash it would be nice. I think they will all do what you want, there’s just gonna be some subtle differences in how they operate and the changing of the battery.

That is the exact gun I'm going to start carrying.

That 507C has great reviews and I like the shake and wake feature.

I've just never had one on a carry pistol so that will be a learning curve I'm sure.

New holster and all that goes with that

Thanks for all the input. Looks like I get to do some research this week.

Might give me a reason to go to the gun show this weekend.

Default Holosun sight or another brand?

I have a vortex venom itís good but I want shake awake so Iím Goni got get a holosun 507c. With the sights the gun still fits my serpa Blackhawk low profile holster. Probably wouldnít fit my duty holster though since it comes up over more of the slide. But itís just my off duty gun.

I have Trijicon and Shield. Like both.

Trijicon on my Glock 45
Shiels RMSc on my Glock 48

Might switch my duty weapon to a shield.

What model pistol? And what carry position do you prefer?

Running a RDS on a carry gun is definitely a preference-- and definitely takes consistent practice to get it right and more to think about/maintenance than an iron sight gun (powered on, window clear/clean, remember to replace batteries, etc)

Right now I am running an RMRcc on my G43x-- great optic but the sight window takes some getting used to compared to my SROs and Leupold DPPs. I generally carry AIWB and I'm still sorting out what holster will work best.

For what it's worth I have owned and used the DPP, RMR, RMRcc, SRO and have the vortex models on my 22s

I am planning on changing to a Glock 43X as my carry gun. This is the one I am mainly concerned with. I'm a "Husky" size so I have to carry OWB. I'm hoping I will be able to use my bianchi holster which is the picture. If not, the search will begin for a functional and comfortable OWB holster.

The second gun will more than likely be my Springfield XD 40. That's what I currently carry and it will be my 2nd choice.

I'm realizing the older I get, if there isn't great to good lighting, I need a little extra time to get sight picture and ready to shoot. I'm thinking one of these type sights will help with that.

Thanks for everyone's input and suggestions.

Get some Shield mags for that 43x- total game changer.

I think you have some great options. If you are in the Dallas area I'd be happy to let you take a look at the RMRcc that is on my 43x and compare it to the others. Hell we can meet at a range but you gotta BYOA, lol.

You will likely need a different holster because any RDS is going to hit the leather on the Bianchi.
