I won't even tempt myself. I got my Vertix earlier this year, and I'm satisfied. 1 fps., 6ounces lighter, and 2 inches shorter is a negligible difference for the money and effort.

I bet it IS sweet though.

Went this pass Saturday to do so and stayed in the hoyt room shooting. I'm going to go shoot it this week. I sold my vertex because it wasn't good to me. It looks good but looks can be deceiving like the Vertix was.

I've always been a bowtech fan but I'm really tempted to pick up one of these year old vertix's that will soon be on the market. I prefer a shorter ata bow..

Love it

Was expecting to like the 31.5 better but the 28 is just too sweet, even with a 30Ē draw.

65 lbs with a maxima red

Shot them today. Traildust is right BEST BOW E.V.E.R (I know he is being sarcastic, but like a broke clock he happens to be right occasionally) :-)

I preferred the 31.5. I can't understand how every year i think they can't make them more dead in the hand and quieter, and then they do. For me the draw cycle was about perfect, no real hump, just smooth to the wall, and what a wall it has. Also easy to hold at full draw, I tend to creep occasionally so i like to know how jumpy a bow is, this one really wasn't. So if you are looking for a bow, i would give one a hard look

Itís not any better then the vertix I promise I shot all three of them side by side . The vertix to me is still better then the VXR 28 , 31.5

I shot the VXR, vertex, traverse, the XLR ( or what ever the 36 ata target bow is) and the virtex and the VXR were very similar, including being top heavy. The traverse and the XLR shot really good but 1800.00 for the target bow( would have used for hunting) no way. The traverse I would have bought, if I would not have shot the prime black.

Coming from a 10 year old DXT, the 31.5” VXR was absolutely amazing to me. Draw cycle was a bit harsh at first, it shoots so smoothly and quietly.

Had the 31.5 VXR. Nice bow but not a fan of the choppy cam cycle. Itís pretty stiff.

I LOVE MINE. VXR-28 SUCKER IS QUIET, FAST, AND DEAD IN HAND. I too have only been out a few times and actually drew back on a doe because I wanted to see the bow in action but I didn't want to ruin my chance at a specific buck I've been after....

He never showed up... I shoulda shot the doe!

I have a halon 32 and just shot the vertix and vxr. I really really liked the vxr. Absolutely dead in the hand but not as smooth of a draw as my halon 32. I’ll probably buy one as I love to mess with new things but it’s not a game changer coming from my halon.

Got me a VXR28. Picked it up yesterday. Ambush Green 29" draw, 60lbs, Easton Hexx with 50gr insert and 125 tip weighing in at 425gr. Shoots 284-285fps. I shoot it better than my Vertix. For being a short bow I shoot it very well. Its everything I wanted for a hunting bow.

I’m am a long time hoyt fan. I went to the shop wanting to buy an rx-4 ultra. I shot the new elite, pse, hoyt and vxr. I ended up putting a deposit on the vxr 31.5!!!!! And, I already have a traverse! I hate the idea of shooting a Mathews but it the best feeling bow I have put in my hands. Totally dead in the hand and **** near silent.

Hellll yea Doc
I too do not like saying I like my VXR but man it sure as heck feels good to shoot. I wanted the RX-4 myself but that price killed me and the VXR was a better shooter I thought. Couldnít pass it up when I found the ambush green now on the shelf.

I don't trade bows often SQ2, Switchback XT, Z7 extreme, VXR 28 I have waited a long time for Mathews to engineer a bow I was willing to give up my Z7 for, the VXR in my opinion is the best bow Mathews has ever made I have no complaints at all.

I have the new bow fever, and I keep shooting them all. Every bow shop is pushing the VXR’s out there first, and don’t get me wrong, it’s nice and quiet, dead feel and all those things. It just doesn’t balance or settle in as well for me. It’s not as top heavy as some previous Mathews, but I still feel it. I could get used to it, but I think I’m just not a Mathews guy. Congrats to those who are.

Mine is supposed to be here first week of March. I ordered my lefty in January. Ambush green 60lbs I custom ordered a black gold ascent verdict 3 pin slider all green .19,.19,.10 pins 6 inch dovetail, Widowmaker housing 2 inch then got the integrated qad rest ( hard decision coming from a limb driver) and I have a set of GAS ghost bow strings headed my way for it. With Mathews one piece quiver. Going to shoot no stabilizer to see how it shoots without one then try the 6 and 8 inch Mathews to see if I want to go that route
