    Auto paint on a budget?

My granddaughter is working on getting her driver's license. One of the neighbors found out and gave her a 2008 Toyota Corolla. It's the perfect size for a first car for her. Mechanically it is in pretty good shape. It does need brakes and a couple of odd's and end, but nothing major. The main thing is the paint. I don't know what the deal is with older Toyota's, but their paint jobs suck. I don't have a lot of money to spend, but would like to see a decent paint job done for Alexis. The interior is in good shape. Anywhere in the Plano, Allen, McKinney area for a decent budget friendly paint job?

Honestly, give it 6 months before painting, let her adjust. Maaco is about as cheap as it gets in DFW, or find someone on FB market who paints on the side.

Ask the high school shop teacher if he's looking for a canvas for his class to learn on. When I was in high school we did a few at material cost... 20 years ago, might be child abuse or something now.

The schools around here don't have the shop classes like we used to.

Go get an electric spray gun and a gallon of auto paint. I wont be perfect but it will be better that that. I did that on a jeep once. It had a little orange peal but it looked much better

Randy, is it only the hood and top, maybe trunk that needs it or the whole car?

Pretty much the whole exterior needs painted.

Thanks for the help guy's. We're going to get started on the mechanical stuff hopefully this weekend.

You will have a good amount of $$$ in any material that will hold up decently to the elements. Not exactly a cheap option.
