preciate it. The plan all along was to use some furring strips. I had also pondered on what to do on the ridge caps etc. Your build answers that.

    thanks

No problem. Metal mart can make your trim, transitions and ridge cap. They also stock the ridge vent foam to put under it. If there is a metal mart close to you.

You are definitely skilled. Is your plan to paint the pine siding? Putting batten on too?

Letting the pine dry for several months then I’ll seal it for a natural finish. Battens & trim boards are sticker stacked drying in a barn, I’ll put them up later to minimize shrinkage where the battens meet the trim.
            They’re true 1x4 pine.

What are you planning on doing on the front to close off the openings from the ceiling joists.

The porch ceiling will be pine tongue and groove so it’ll just be connected to the attic space.

Hence the ceiling joist haha [emoji23]

Original plan was a lean to style porch with no ceiling, but i changed that when framing the roof.
Doing can lights under it and maybe a fan as well.

Last side done, got my ol man to help me with the long ones. Strip stacked the rest of the wood to dry and put it in the barn. Cleaned up the work area and had a cold one enjoying the view.

That’s it for these days off. I’ll knock out the soffit, trim and battens next days off. Also get my porch deck built.
