    Eating Deer Liver & Heart

If I kill a deer this year, I am going to cook and eat the liver and heart.

Is there any reason I should not do it?

For those of you have eaten deer liver and heart, did you like the taste and texture?

How did you prepare and cook it? Thinly sliced? Fry it in olive oil?

The reason I don’t eat em is the same reason I don’t eat organ meat from other mammals, it ain’t no good. I don’t care what all the hipster meateaters say.

I ate heart this past season. I'd eat it again. Liver doesn't matter because I don't like any liver.

Chicken fried heart isn’t bad. Never tried liver. Can’t get over the texture

My grandma used to cook and eat lites and cow brains. Eggs and brains for breakfast was her favorite.

Ate a few Sitka Blacktail hearts when I lived in Alaska. I think I'll keep the heart of the next deer I kill and eat it.

Don’t like liver but heart is good. I take the heart fresh, season with fajita season with some lime and make tacos.

I’ll eat calf liver and buffalo liver but deer liver is too strong for me. Now the heart, that’s great. I like it fried up with potatoes, onions and garlic. It’s also good cubed up and added to chili.

Deer heart is my favorite part of a deer! Sauté in butter and onions…….mmmmmm..mmmm…goood!

While I absolutely love liver, I haven’t got adventurous enough with deer liver yet.

I like the heart, but like others I'm no fan of the liver.
