My son drew the either sex hunt 21-23 Nov. Anyone hunted recently there? Tips?

Congrats on your son drawing this hunt beautiful place and a pretty target rich environment. My daughter was drawn a couple of years ago for the GDE. We saw several WT doe, bunch of hogs and a lot of Turkey. We did see quite a few axis but they were always to deep in the trees. Couldn’t get them to come out in the open. Definitely take some corn and a few bales of alfalfa, the axis love the alfalfa, they would just hit it hard at night as we noticed it all gone in the mornings. Good luck. Great crew there. They did ask for volunteers to shoot hogs in their traps on the last day. My daughter was the only volunteer so she dispatched probably 20 pigs in the different traps.

My parents and uncle drew it 3 years ago. Killed 11 deer in 5 sits, 2 of which were axis. Dad was on the high line. Not much to look at but he was covered up with targets.

I'm headed there in late January for the exotic hunt.

Pretty excited to be headed out with my dad. He and I have been on several public draw hunts and it's always a good time.

Getting closer! Ready to pack up and go. My son is so excited, he’s only shot one black buck, so any exotic will be very cool. Heck just getting some time any with him is worth it. They grow up way to fast…..
