My wife set a trap one Valentine's day. Kids were young and money was tight. We decided not to get each other anything but we would go out for Mexican food. After we were seated at the table she pulls out a card. I told her I did not have one because we decided we were NOT getting each other anything. She responded you didn't even get me a card and I responded no. Needless to say she was quite ticked for the evening. I just let her be mad. What was unknown to her was my oldest was putting out the champagne, strawberries, chocolates, roses, and yes a card was waiting for her when we got back home. When she discovered them upon our arrival, she looked at me and said I tricked her! I just told her I knew it was a trap but I had keep up the appearance so it would be priceless when we got home. I have not run her off in 32 years and she doesn't try those girlish tricks on me.

I’m so glad we don’t celebrate any birthdays, anniversaries, Valentines, Christmas. I haven’t received from her or bought a gift for her in 16yrs.
