Default Green heron

Green heron at a local city park. Small island that acts as a rookery for green herons and yellow-crowned night herons. In the shadows but a beam of light was coming through the trees.

Sony ILCE-1, FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS + 1.4X Teleconverter, 823 mm, f/9, 1/1600s, ISO 3200

Beautiful shot Bill. We used to have one “roost” our backyard oak. Super neat to watch it survey the pond.

I very much appreciate the comments. Film is cheap these days, well, maybe not but you can sure shoot more to hope for these kind of shots/light.

Enter that in some kind of contest. Looks like it should be in National Geographic.

Guys, I really thank you for taking the time to look and make nice comments. The lighting on this small island at a CS city park was coming through perfect. Afternoon shot that wouldn't happen in the morning.
