Deer water station

I built a 5 foot tall platform. I have a 500 gallon water tank that I’m going to put on top of it. My question is can I mount the small water trough device I purchased directly on that stand? Will the deer water out of it or is it better to have the water farther away from the tank? How high off the ground should I Mel the water trough.

I’ve seen this setup in both scenarios. Deer will walk right up to the tank and trough, as long as it has water. Or you can run pipe from a distance to trough, either way it works well. Good Luck

i have a 30 yard poly pipe run on mine. but i catch rainwater off of my blind and run it to a 60 gallon trough

Deer water station

I will probably have too. Plan on leaving it un-fenced for a few weeks to encourage the deer to use it. It will be in a pen with a protein feeder.

I put mine up away from a feeder, inside of a pen. I had deer in two hours after I set it up. They will use it no matter what, mine use it even when there’s rain water.
