For those who were/are interested in making the sharpening wheels to use on a bench grinder from the MDF particle board:
Don't waste your time.
I wasted mine, so you wouldn't have to.
I have all the tools to make a perfect wheel, was interested, so I did.
It works to some degree, but nowhere near as good as the laminated cardboard wheels.
Also (as I suspected it would), it gets the blade pretty hot even if using very light pressure, so if you have a problem with being heavy handed you'll likely ruin your blade.
I know they are expensive, but you'll be much better off to buy the Razor Sharp Sharpening System wheels, and be done with it. They last for years (forever if you don't gouge them out), and they are very easy to regrit when needed.
