You might a spooked him if you actually went. Maybe the reason he was there is because there wasn`t any human scent or presence prior to daylight. I always wonder how many good bucks you never see because they saw or smelled you first.

i went on a sketchy wind day 2 weeks, knew i probably shouldnt but also knew i wasnt going to get to hunt for a week or so after. biggest deer ive ever seen in person, who showed up on cam the day before, winded me at 20y, 2 steps from death. worse thing is that he hasnt been back since.

I shot him with my 30-30 from my rifle blind account of my torn rotator cuff. If I had been bow hunting I'd never shot him. He cut straight across 35 yds behind the feeder and never broke stride til he was at the last clear window I had and stopped right before walking out of sight. A fatal mistake on his part.
