    Meat and gravy

    Deer meat and gravy
2lbs sliced 1/4” thick hind quarter or back strap.
    I prefer hind quarter.
    Flour
    Cooking oil
    Seasoning
    Small can of tomato sauce.
    Onions

Season sliced meat (I use salt pepper and garlic powder)
Put in hot grease and brown on each side.
While meat is browning I cut up a medium size onion and put in the bottom of baking dish.
After meat is done brown 1-2 tbl spoons of flour in the pan then pour in tomato sauce stir n cook 3-4 minutes then add hot water and make gravy. You will have to season the gravy and make it thin because the browned meat will help thicken it.
Pour over the meat cover and simmer in the oven for about 11/2 hrs at 350*
This is my favorite way to cook deer meat. There’s never any left when I cook it for my family.

Sound like my favorite meal, smothered steak except the tomato sauce
