I’d go with the guides’ recommendation. He has made a living killing bears and not being killed by one.

You have no hair on your satchel if you cant shoot a bear offhand with a 300win mag at 700 yards.

Mr Hunter, I wouldnt hesitate with any of your calibers listed. Shot placement and projectile.

Get some bear MrHunter. I hope to see the LDPs.

Well technically you could buy a rifle in 300WSM and use it on deer and hogs and other stuff in Texas. If it'll kill a bear it'll kill pretty much whatever you need it to.

Probably been more bear killed with an old 06 shooting silvertips than any other caliber gun.

I figure if a bow can kill an animal, then just about any caliber with the right bullet and placement.
