I took a WWII P38 off of a NVA major we captured in Nam. Wanted to bring it home as a souvenir but it somehow disappeared from the battalion arms room.
Seems some Col heard about it and confiscated my gun. It was gone when I got ready to rotate back to the world. All captured weapons had to go thru Battalion HQ to be cleared and approved for keeping or destroying. P1 should be about 1/3 or 1/2 the value of an original P38.
