We landed last night in Anchorage. Today we toured a wild life sanctuary and did some sightseeing.

Coopers Landing and Kenai are pretty cool. Sockeye fishing should still be happening at the kenai/Russian confluence. If you go that way and want to see the ocean drive to Homer. Aka “the spit”. Very cool, have fun.

Hit Whittier on the way to Seward if you have time. One way tunnel (inbound every hour on the half hour, outbound every hour on the hour). Don’t need much time to see it all, but definitely worth a stop.

In Seward, eat at Rays. Get there early, gets crowded and there will be. Along wait. Also, short hike to exit glacier just outside of town.

We just got back Sunday, had a great time.

8.2 around the Aleutian Islands. It says itís 684 miles away but I suspect you still felt 8.2. Hope all is well and enjoy the trip.

We were in Kodiak and down on the Kenai Peninsula last week and read several warning signs about earthquakes and tsunamis...basically, they all said to get to an elevation of 50' or higher after a quake in case of tsunami. Slightly disconcerting, but I don't think it's a very common issue.

The bear was in an animal sanctuary behind an electric fence.

Still pretty intimidating to be that close. I was probably 30 feet from it.

Cool, just an awesome pic of that bear. And only an electric fence and 30 feet between you and that bear! I believe Iíll let you take that picture and then just tell me about it while I go look at a waterfall or glacier or something. Have a great time, really enjoy your Alaska pics.

Spending the night in Seward tonight and can’t check into the fishing lodge tomorrow until 3:00

Deciding whether to hang out here tomorrow or drive down to Homer. We will see.

You can go up to the Russian river/river ferry and fish with the bears without an electric fence

I’m not sure. We get to the lodge in a few hours.

I know we fish 2 days for salmon, 1 day for Halibut, and then take a float plane 1 day.

Fishing starts tomorrow.
